A Lovely Kitten
Imagine. Create. Share.
Since 2008, the Kids4Kids My Story Creation annual story writing and illustration competition has provided primary students across Hong Kong with a creative platform that enables the budding writers and artists to imagine, create and share their stories.
This story was written and illustrated by kid(s) who participated in the Kids4Kids annual 'My Story Creation competition'. We hope to celebrate all the kids who used their creativity and imagination to create a story by giving them an opportunity to custom print their story, and be able to share and inspire other kids to create their own story.
Proceeds from the sale of this custom print story will help fund the Literacy Development Programmes at Kids4Kids to provide creative learning opportunities to low resourced communities in Hong Kong. By buying a Kids4Kids custom print story, you are not only applauding the future artists & authors of Hong Kong but you are also making a difference in a child’s life!

One day, Alice and her brother, Manson went home together after school. They were sad because it was raining so they couldn't play football game in the playground.

Suddenly, they heard ‘meow' so they traced along down the street. They found a white kitten hiding in a paper box and it was shivering. Alice said, ‘Oh, what a lovely kitten! It gets cold. How can we help it?'

They got an idea. They held it into arms gently and went back home quickly. Alice and Manson asked, ‘Mum, can we bring up the kitten at home?' Unfortunately, her mother couldn't hear clearly and replied ‘No!' Alice and Manson didn't believe their ears! They were so disappointed.

After that, they took some milk to feed the small lovely cat every day. They took care of it with love. They also made a small house by cardboard. They enjoyed playing with it very much.

A week later, their mum discovered that her kids took a big bottle of milk out of home quietly. She wondered where they went. So she decided to follow them.

Their mum followed them for a long way. She saw they stopped at a corner of the street. She found that they were nursing a white kitten happily. She yelled, ‘Hey! Alice, Manson!'

Alice and Manson were frightened that their mum would punish them. They said, ‘Sorry, Mum!' They were in panic.

Luckily, their mum didn't punish them. She said, ‘Wow! This kitten is so cute! How come is it?' Alice and Manson were so surprised that they opened their mouth but couldn't say anything!

At last, they carried the kitten back home and called her Grace. They raised it up to be a healthy and lively cat. They all loved it very much.

After a few months, an old woman knocked the door and asked, ‘Have you ever seen this kitten?' When she wanted to show her cat's photo, she screamed, ‘Oh! My little cat!' Alice and Manson were shocked. They clearly knew that the kitten she found was Grace.

They gave Grace to the old woman sadly. The lady was so kind that she invited them to visit her and played with her cat. They were excited and jumped up.

Their mum appreciated that their kids had become more caring and helpful. They learned lots of knowledge in animal care and they became more considerate to others.
