The Turning Mummy Man Hin Ruby Lee

The Turning Mummy
Imagine. Create. Share.
Since 2008, the Kids4Kids My Story Creation annual story writing and illustration competition has provided primary students across Hong Kong with a creative platform that enables the budding writers and artists to imagine, create and share their stories.
This story was written and illustrated by kid(s) who participated in the Kids4Kids annual 'My Story Creation competition'. We hope to celebrate all the kids who used their creativity and imagination to create a story by giving them an opportunity to custom print their story, and be able to share and inspire other kids to create their own story.
Proceeds from the sale of this custom print story will help fund the Literacy Development Programmes at Kids4Kids to provide creative learning opportunities to low resourced communities in Hong Kong. By buying a Kids4Kids custom print story, you are not only applauding the future artists & authors of Hong Kong but you are also making a difference in a child’s life!

There is a new relic called the Turning Mummy in Manchester Museum.  It just arrived from the Valley of the Kings in Egypt and it is an unidentified king.  When it has been on exhibition, it comes to life at night and walks out of the glass case it was exhibited in.

Ann and Lisa are trapped in the museum because Ann was too busy looking at the Egyptian relics, and Lisa got lost in the twist and turns of the corridors. When they finally stop daydreaming, the museum is closed.  They see the new exhibit walking in the museum and overhear the mummy taking to the museum curator.

Ann and Lisa are accidentally shipped to Egypt. They are mistaken as mummies and are deposited in the sarcophagus which is then dumped in the warehouse.

When they wake up, they creep out of the sarcophagus and look around the warehouse. They discover that the museum curator, Mr. Orin, has been responsible for a lot of museum thefts. Piles of gold glitter around them.

After the girls have a look at the warehouse's basement where Mr. Orin has been hoarding the gold, they creep upstairs and discover a luxurious apartment and office. When they sneak into the office, they hack into the computer and discover that he is in a black market deal.  They find the Rosetta Stone, and inside the stone- the spirit of Menes, son of Lord Seth.
They also discover that the mummy is an ancient alchemist from the times of Egypt. He is Menes's father and was a ancient pharaoh that concocted a potion that would make him immortal.

“Lord Seth's people feared and hated him because he burned all books and slew all scholars so no knowledge could harm him. His only son, Menes, slew him and become the first king of Egypt. Seth's immortal ghost yearned for revenge, so he bound his life force into one of his statues and lived there for eight centuries, turning the pedestal”, whispers the Rosetta Stone.

The girls trek to Cairo's main airport and go to the luggage conveyor belt. They empty out an especially big luggage bag and the two 11 year old girls squeeze in.

They are shipped back to London.

They take out Lisa‘s camera and show the policemen. The Rosetta Stone also provides proof.

The policemen arrest Orin. They seal Lord Seth back into the tomb with the help of the Rosetta Stone.
