The Aftermath of the Authority Greed
Imagine. Create. Share.
Since 2008, the Kids4Kids My Story Creation annual story writing and illustration competition has provided primary students across Hong Kong with a creative platform that enables the budding writers and artists to imagine, create and share their stories.
This story was written and illustrated by kid(s) who participated in the Kids4Kids annual 'My Story Creation competition'. We hope to celebrate all the kids who used their creativity and imagination to create a story by giving them an opportunity to custom print their story, and be able to share and inspire other kids to create their own story.
Proceeds from the sale of this custom print story will help fund the Literacy Development Programmes at Kids4Kids to provide creative learning opportunities to low resourced communities in Hong Kong. By buying a Kids4Kids custom print story, you are not only applauding the future artists & authors of Hong Kong but you are also making a difference in a child’s life!

The clearing was grown with thorns and weeds. Every step left a carbon footprint. Many houses were abandoned and uninhabited. A terrible disaster had happened a year ago.

Malice visited this deserted territory twice every week. She was interested in all bio lives which had existed and survived. Malice brought along with her magnifying glass, an instant camera and an old leather notebook with stains.

The territory was filled up with abandoned flats. Each door had a bolted latch, rusty and dusty. This was a risky adventure. Malice went into a familiar house where her family had been living since Malice was born.

The territory was an important carbon footprint because it was at the edge of the infected area where a nuclear bomb was exploded. Since then, the area was wired with no trespassing. It was restricted to outsiders.

Malice sneaked into the blocked region just for one reason. She wanted to know the truth. She found that the ants had the colony here deep underground, which meant the nuclear bomb had done no harm on them. But it did harm on humans.

Corpses were taken away and treated without notice. Because of this, Malice had never seen her family again. Her neighbours said that all her family members had died. Malice was lucky as she was on a trip to Japan.

One night, Malice saw a group of 4 soldiers brought out a corpse. They wore protective gears with helmets and big metallic masks. The corpse was burnt at once.

Malice had no reason to get frightened since all her family had left. However, she decided to tell her only friend, Jennifer. Jennifer's father was the delegate president.

To the community, the restricted area seemed to be a secret. To the government, it was not. There might be places in other areas which had the same fate. There were people who moaned for the lost families. There were existing lives and miseries.

The was the last time Malice saw the restricted area. It was a huge wall. Though nothing could be seen, behind the magnificent wall, there were various stories of mankind like Malice's
