Imagine. Create. Share.
Since 2008, the Kids4Kids My Story Creation annual story writing and illustration competition has provided primary students across Hong Kong with a creative platform that enables the budding writers and artists to imagine, create and share their stories.
This story was written and illustrated by kid(s) who participated in the Kids4Kids annual 'My Story Creation competition'. We hope to celebrate all the kids who used their creativity and imagination to create a story by giving them an opportunity to custom print their story, and be able to share and inspire other kids to create their own story.
Proceeds from the sale of this custom print story will help fund the Literacy Development Programmes at Kids4Kids to provide creative learning opportunities to low resourced communities in Hong Kong. By buying a Kids4Kids custom print story, you are not only applauding the future artists & authors of Hong Kong but you are also making a difference in a child’s life!

Once upon a time, there was a princess named Jessica, who lived in a castle of a small country. Her family members included her father( the king), her mother (the queen) and her elder brother.

All of them loved Jessica very much. However, Jessica was still unhappy and did not smile at all. As a princess, Jessica had to stay at the castle all the time and she never went out. She did not have any friends.

Also, her brother was already sixteen years old, but she was only ten years old. The Prince rarely played with her. Jessica felt very lonely and unhappy!

One day, the queen thought, ‘Jessica is a princess. She has a lot of things. How come she is always unhappy and never smiles?' Or maybe she……' the queen talked to herself.

The queen told her husband about this. Then, the king said, ‘Oh, we are always busy on country affairs and do not understand the feeling of Jessica. I don't know why she is unhappy! Let's do something……'

On another day, the king invited the most popular clown to the castle. He played a lot of jokes and everyone laughed. But, Jessica didn't laugh. The king felt surprised.

The king and the queen used many ideas to make Jessica laugh. They bought her a lot of toys, made funny faces, gave her some candies……. But, these didn't make Jessica laugh. The king and the queen felt worried.

One day, a poor girl, Jenny, came to the castle. She wanted to ask for food. Jessica saw her and gave her some tasty food. Jenny was happy. She said, ‘Thank you, princess Jessica. You are so kind.'

Jessica felt well when Jenny talked to her. She asked Jenny, ‘Can you be my friend, Jenny?' Jenny said, ‘Sure! Princess Jessica.' Jessica brought Jenny's family to the castle and gave them some rooms and clothes.

Jenny always played with Jessica. They played chess and card games in their spare time. From that day, Jessica always smiled and laughed happily. They talked to each other every day.

The king and the queen asked Jessica, ‘Why do you always smile and laugh happily now?' Jessica said, ‘I am not lonely now! Jenny is my best friend.' Then, she gave them a big smile.

The king and the queen felt happy that Jessica laughed every day. They all smiled and lived happily in the castle. ‘Jessica and Jenny are best friends forever.' All the people in the castle said.
