The Halloween Adventure
Imagine. Create. Share.
Since 2008, the Kids4Kids My Story Creation annual story writing and illustration competition has provided primary students across Hong Kong with a creative platform that enables the budding writers and artists to imagine, create and share their stories.
This story was written and illustrated by kid(s) who participated in the Kids4Kids annual 'My Story Creation competition'. We hope to celebrate all the kids who used their creativity and imagination to create a story by giving them an opportunity to custom print their story, and be able to share and inspire other kids to create their own story.
Proceeds from the sale of this custom print story will help fund the Literacy Development Programmes at Kids4Kids to provide creative learning opportunities to low resourced communities in Hong Kong. By buying a Kids4Kids custom print story, you are not only applauding the future artists & authors of Hong Kong but you are also making a difference in a child’s life!

Last Halloween two girls named Vivian and Chloe went Trick or Treating when something very scary happened to them. Vivian dressed up like a witch while Chloe dressed up like a ghost. They went from house to house collecting nuts, sweets and chocolate. They were having such a fun time.

Suddenly, they saw something unbelievable. It was a house made of candy and outside were many desserts. “Wow, this is amazing!” said Chloe. They were so curious, so they went up to the house and decided to go inside. They knocked on the cookie door and went inside.

“Is there anyone in here?” asked Vivian. No reply came as the two girls walked further into the house. They started to eat candy from around the rooms of the house. Suddenly, a door opened and a ghost floated in. Both girls jumped with the shock of what they saw.

“It's a real ghost,” whispered Chloe. “Calm down,” said Vivian, “I have an idea.” They stood still and waited for the ghost to continue as they hoped it wouldn't see them. It floated slowly towards the other room while the girls stood still not breathing and hoping the ghost would not see them and stop.

Suddenly, the ghost stopped in the middle of the room, looked at them and said, “I have a challenge for you and if you are successful you may leave this house. If you lose, you must stay here FOREVER.” The girls thought about it and reluctantly agreed.

Chloe was very scared, but Vivian whispered, “Don't worry. I'm really good at all kinds of games. I have a plan so get ready to run when I tell you.” Chloe nodded her head and the ghost brought them to a different room inside the house.

The first game was called ‘Challenge the King'. The ghost told them, “The game is tic-tac-toe, but nine times nine.” Chloe said, “Are you sure you can win? We never play the game with such bug numbers.” Vivian was pleased because it was a game she played before and was very confident.

The game started with Vivian having the first turn with the letter ‘X' and the ghost played second with the letter ‘O'. As the game progressed Chloe saw something strange and suddenly shouted, “You're cheating.” The ghost admitted he was cheating so he allowed them to move on to the next challenge.

The final challenge is a physical challenge. You must defeat my 3 friends in hand to hand combat. Chloe grinned and said, “This challenge is for me. I did taekwondo in school.” They began when Vivian saw a candle burning in the corner which she picked up and threw at the monsters. She then shouted, “Run!”

As the girls ran out of the house, they left their candy behind them but neither cared. They were both relieved to have gotten out of the house alive. When they got home, they both decided that they would never go trick or treating again.
