AC Wars
Imagine. Create. Share.
Since 2008, the Kids4Kids My Story Creation annual story writing and illustration competition has provided primary students across Hong Kong with a creative platform that enables the budding writers and artists to imagine, create and share their stories.
This story was written and illustrated by kid(s) who participated in the Kids4Kids annual 'My Story Creation competition'. We hope to celebrate all the kids who used their creativity and imagination to create a story by giving them an opportunity to custom print their story, and be able to share and inspire other kids to create their own story.
Proceeds from the sale of this custom print story will help fund the Literacy Development Programmes at Kids4Kids to provide creative learning opportunities to low resourced communities in Hong Kong. By buying a Kids4Kids custom print story, you are not only applauding the future artists & authors of Hong Kong but you are also making a difference in a child’s life!

“Good golly!! It's so hot!” whimpered the Baby Pencil. “Yaa!” chorused all the other subjects of the Stationery Kingdom. “Silence!” bellowed the Grand High Pencil. “We shall embark on a dangerous quest to find the AC Controller. If we can't find it, we will all melt into big blobs of stationery gloop!”

All this stationery belonged to two brothers, one named Tom and one named Jeff, who lived in a nice, cozy house and had a collection of model warships and warplanes. However, they were often forgetful, and this time, they lost their AC Controller, so it was very, very hot!

However, Emperor Eraser and Sultan Stapler in the Senate of the Stationery Kingdom opposed finding the AC Controller and turning it back on. After a heated argument, Emperor Eraser and Sultan Stapler were booted out from the Senate. “You haven't seen the last of us!” they boomed as they stormed off.

Every single night, the subjects of the Stationery Kingdom, led by the Grand High Pencil, searched high and low for the AC Controller. After three nights of fruitless searching, they finally spotted the AC Controller sitting on top of the highest point of the highest cupboard, right next to the bathtub!

The Grand High Pencil devised a scheme to retrieve the AC Controller: they would cross the bathtub in Tom and Jeff's model warships and warplanes! However, as they tried to cross the “sea”, flaming matches streaked their way. Emperor Eraser and Sultan Stapler gloated. “That AC Controller ain't going nowhere!”

The Grand High Pencil knew he needed a plan B: he formed the Royal Stationery Air Force (RSAF). His planes dived at Emperor Eraser's and Sultan Stapler's vessels, carrying payloads of lethal matches. One flaming match struck the largest enemy boat, burning a hole in the hull. Flames and smoke engulfed the boat, water flooded in, bringing it to the bottom of the bathtub.

The Grand High Pencil also formed the Royal Stationery Navy. The Navy's boats turned to fire matches, puffs of smoke and ripples of flame came from their guns. One match struck another enemy boat! Unfortunately, the enemy returned fire, and hit one of the Royal Stationery Navy boats. Luckily, everyone survived.

As carnage exploded below him, the Grand High Pencil guided his plane up, and spotted the AC Controller. Jingling with excitement, he lassoed a rope around the AC Controller, and took off again. “HALT!” thundered Emperor Eraser. “Not on your nellie!” the Grand High Pencil replied in triumph, and left with the AC Controller in tow.

The Grand High Pencil, over a miniature walkie-talkie, ordered his troops to leave immediately. They hopped along the wooden floor, bounced along a bouncy sofa, tip-toed past Tom and Jeff who were writing a silly story about some stationery fighting a war in a bathtub. Soon, they reached the desk.

“Hooray!” they all cheered after the AC was turned on, and partied all night with music thumping. “Uh oh! Tom and Jeff are coming in!” yelled a Ruler. “Ahhhhhhh!!” they yelped. The pencils dove into the pencil holders, the scissors hopped back into their drawers, and the markers flopped into their marker cases, but, with the AC at full blast, they lived happily ever after!
