Imagine. Create. Share.
Since 2008, the Kids4Kids My Story Creation annual story writing and illustration competition has provided primary students across Hong Kong with a creative platform that enables the budding writers and artists to imagine, create and share their stories.

This story was written and illustrated by kid(s) who participated in the Kids4Kids annual 'My Story Creation competition'. We hope to celebrate all the kids who used their creativity and imagination to create a story by giving them an opportunity to custom print their story, and be able to share and inspire other kids to create their own story.

Proceeds from the sale of this custom print story will help fund the Literacy Development Programmes at Kids4Kids to provide creative learning opportunities to low resourced communities in Hong Kong. By buying a Kids4Kids custom print story, you are not only applauding the future artists & authors of Hong Kong but you are also making a difference in a child’s life!

I guess I am the last pygmy three-toed sloth in the world who lives in the Amazon rainforest and I am trying to find another sloth beyond the rainforest. I should be the slowest mammal on Earth but now I speed up myself to avoid extinction.

All my family died of deforestation and I needed to survive in the wild.
Oh Gosh! It's harpy eagle. I jumped into the river right away; I almost became his meal. I swam along the river and I met a gorilla and they also were one of the endangered species.

Gorilla helped me out of the river. “Thank you!” I said.
“Where are you going?” asked Gorilla.
“I am trying to find another sloth,” I said.
“I have seen your kind in the rainforest. I think I can lead you the way,” said Gorilla.

Oh, no! It's a helicopter! I noticed that a helicopter hovering (not moving) above us. Ouch! Gorilla grabbed me away when I was almost hurt by the helicopter blade trimmer.
“You saved my life again!” I said terrifyingly!!
“People use the helicopters to cut the trees,” said Gorilla.

Gorilla said, “That is the way! Come.” Gorilla led me to the long, dark tunnel. As I walked into the tunnel, the tunnel started to get wider and brighter.
I would keep running and running! Then finally, I reached the light!
“Goodbye, Sloth!” Gorilla said.

I had a look around and I had seen the most amazing view ever in my life! There would always be a rainbow and sunshine. There were also hills, mountains, valleys and everything else I loved! I quickly checked if the hunter was nowhere to be seen.

I got three quarters up the tree I could see the pinnacle of the tree so close to completing my goal once and for all so I climbed and pushed myself to climb higher. Suddenly … CRACK! My nerves sent a shock to my spine. I was falling down.

I woke up in shock. I was nowhere known to sloth kind. A white piece of material was wrapped around me. I was in a Slothpital. A man rushed for my aid. My legs felt like they had been pulled to the moon and back. I soon adapted to the pain.

I tried to climb to the top, but I didn't make it. I did this exercise for a while. My legs felt like they had been on a full marathon in the desert. I got medicine and I drifted off to sleep. When I woke up with happiness...

I was back to the wild. I chose to go up the tree…
As I listened to the gentle hiss of water flowing downhill, I noticed I was surrounded by a rainforest full of old tall trees. I looked up and I could see a mother and her baby sloth.

They clung to each other and perched high on an old fern branch.
The beauty of the rainforest light filtering through the green and gold leaved trees left me speechless. “This is Sloths' Paradise!” I cried.

Although a lot of people have been helping us to live, some people are still not listening. Every single year the water pollution, wild fires and more have been getting worse. With all my heart I say to you, “Please save my home.”
